Shared Horizons is a nonprofit organization {having 501(c)(3) status}created to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities through the Wesley Vinner Memorial Trust, which is a Pooled Special Needs Trust.
MISSION
Our mission is to protect the assets belonging to individuals with disabilities while maintaining their eligibility for governmental support programs.
ASSET PROTECTION
- We act in the best interest of the individual paying for goods and services not covered by public benefits.
- Funds held in trust are not subject to creditors or seizures.
PRESERVATION OF PUBLIC BENEFITS
- Assets held in an approved Special Needs Trust are not counted when determining eligibility for public benefits.
- An individual can have no more than $2,000 (in assets) in their possession to qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

- Medicaid
- Subsidized (HUD) Housing
- Food Stamps
